Nicos Anastasiades, the President of Cyprus, has given a press conference at the Presidential Palace, in which he looked at the work carried out by his government over the past three years regarding reforms, state modernisation, social policy and foreign policy.
Anastasiades claimed that the republic has increased in terms of international prestige and that it is becoming a European energy centre. This, he claims, has enabled the country to follow steadily in its energy planning to develop and exploit its offshore natural resources.
Discussing the Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone’s third licensing round, Anastasiades said that the construction of an LNG terminal in Cyprus - and Cyrpus’ consequent conversion into an energy hub – would rely upon the results of ongoing research programmes or new licenses.
