LNG Industry,
The Port of Helsingborg has announced that it has signed an agreement with Klaipedos Nafta. Under the deal, Klaipedos Nafta and the port will cooperate on the Helsingborg and Klaipeda LNG Infrastructure Facility Deployment Project (HEKLA).
Furthermore, Klaipedos Nafta is able to use financial support of up to €6 million from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), which is part of the European Union financing programme. This was approved by the Coordination Committee for the construction of Klaipedos Nafta’s LNG onshore reloading facility.
Construction of the LNG reloading facility is expected to be underway by late 2015 or early 2016, when a contract is signed with a contractor. Initial proposals from potential contractors have yet to be made. Nonetheless, commercial operations are expected to be underway in early 2017.
