GTT and Imbari agree deal for LNG carriers

GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) has announced the notification of two LNG carriers to be built by Japanese shipbuilder Imabari.
The LNG carriers will be equipped with GTT’s Mark III Flex containment system.
The two LNG carriers, which are set for delivery in 2017, will also include a new MEGI propulsion system.
Elcano, a Spanish ship owner with a long history of operating GTT-designed LNG carriers, will operate the two LNG carriers.
Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT said: “We are very pleased to see Imabari resume building GTT-designed LNG carriers. We have always been impressed by Imabari’s commitment to quality and by their high level of engineering expertise.”
