Evergas has announced that Steffen Jacobsen has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as of 8 May 2015, replacing Martin Ackermann.

Mr Jacobsen joined Evergas in February 2015 as Vice President, Fleet, after almost 35 years with Maersk. He headed Maersk Tankers fleet management for 9 years, and has held operational and commercial leadership positions at Maersk Tankers, Maersk Contractors and Maersk Drilling.

The Chairman of Jaccar Holdings, Jacques de Chateauvieux, said: "I wish to thank Martin Ackermann for his leadership of Evergas through periods of financial and operational challenges as well as a period of rapid growth. He has led the company with success through this sea of changes. Martin has decided to move on and the timing is right for Evergas to have a change in leadership. We are pleased to appoint Mr Jacobsen who brings a solid ballast of leadership and industry experience. Evergas is in a period of strong growth in a market that shows strong potential for further development, and we are delighted that Mr. Jacobsen will lead the company forward."
