ABS has announced that its Chairman, President and CEO, Christopher J. Wiernicki, has been inducted to the International Maritime Hall of Fame at the Maritime Association of the Port of New York and New Jersey’s 23rd annual event.
The International Hall of Fame recognises maritime visionaries, who through excellence in their company, organisation, or services, best exemplify the qualities of futuristic thinking that will guide the maritime industry in the 21st Century.
Mr Wiernicki said: “I am very honored to receive this recognition and am proud to accept the award on behalf of ABS employees around the world […] The people working in this industry and behind the scenes make it great by making a difference every day, and ABS employees have taught me over 20 years about what service and leadership in this industry really looks like.”
In addition to serving as Chairman, President and CEO of ABS and Chairman of the ABS Group of Companies, Inc., Wiernicki also serves as Chairman of the International Association of Classification Societies. He previously held several senior roles at ABS, including President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Technology Officer, and President and COO of ABS Europe Ltd.
