LNG Industry,

The US Maritime Administration (MARAD) has announced that it has approved Port Dolphin Energy LLC’s request to surrender and terminate its Deepwater Port License. The licence authorised the company to build, own and operate a deepwater LNG port, which would be located approximately 28 miles off of the western coast of Florida, US, and approximately 42 miles from Port manatee, Manatee County, Florida.

All of the obligations and actions to own, build and operate the deepwater port issued to Dolphin on 7 May 2010 have been terminated.

MARAD originally received a notification from Dolphin on 28 August 2015, which stated the company’s intention to surrender its license. MARAD concluded that all of the necessary obligations required of Dolphin for the surrender and termination of the license were satisfied, and so, on 25 April 2016, the company’s decision was approved.
