GTT receives LNG tank design order

GTT has announced that it has received an order from Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) concerning the tank design of a new 174 000 m³ LNG carrier on behalf of a European shipowner.

According to the statement, the ship’s delivery is planned for 1H21.

GTT claims that its membrane containment system Mark III Flex has been chosen for the design of the tanks. The name of the shipowner has not been disclosed at this stage.

The Chairman and CEO of GTT, Philippe Berterottière, said: “We are very pleased to pursue our partnership of excellence with Samsung Heavy Industries through this new order.”

Stolt-Nielsen Ltd and NYK Line have announced that Stolt-Nielsen has entered into a share purchase agreement to sell 50% of Avenir LNG Ltd to NYK Line.
