Reuters is reporting that Royal Dutch Shell has announced that its Prelude floating production project’s first LNG shipment is “imminent”.
Prelude, based offshore Australia, is the world’s largest floating LNG production project. It has an LNG production capacity of 3.6 million tpy, and also produces 1.3 million tpy of condensate and 400 000 tpy of LPG.
The start-up of Prelude will coincide with the start-up of several US projects, likely causing further saturation of the global LNG market.
