Reuters are reporting that Singapore authorities are making a concerted effort to ensure the availability of low-sulfur marine fuels before the new International Maritime Organisation (IMO) 2020 emission regulations come into play.

Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Transport and Health Lam Pin Min announced that the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is working closely with the industry to make sure that the country has supplies of low-sulfur, legislation compliant, fuels ready in time for 1 January 2020.

Lam also stated that the MPA would make available a list of licensed bunker suppliers of compliant fuels by mid-2019.
