Reuters has reported that Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) has received a new order for a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). The order has come from the South Korean shipbuilder, Samsung Heavy Industries.
Reuters confirms that the new vessel will feature Mark III technology, and is expected to be delivered by 2017. The Mark III membrane system is a cryogenic liner, which is supported directly by the inner hull of the vessel. It consists of a primary metallic membrane, which is placed above a prefabricated insulation panel and includes a secondary membrane.
