Excelerate Energy wins third FSRU contract in Brazil
Excelerate Energy has won a 15 year time charter deal with Petrobras to provide an FSRU, the vessel, designated as VT3 by Petrobras, will have a capacity of 20 million m3/d.
The new FSRU is due to enter service in May 2014. In the interim period, Petrobras will use the Exquisite, another of Excelerate’s FSRUs, at the Guanabara Bay Terminal to expand delivery capacity from 14 to 20 million m3/d.
DSME have been selected by Excelerate to build the new FSRU which will have a storage capacity of 174,000 m3, the vessel will also be able to function as an LNG carrier as well as an FSRU.
