Wood Group Mustang wins Ichthys LNG contract
Wood Group Mustang has been awarded the topsides detailed engineering and procurement support for the semi-submersible production facility, which will operate in the offshore field.
The topside facility will be 60,000 tonnes dwt and will be 156 m long, the semi-submersible central processing facility will be the world’s largest when it come into operation. It is designed to have a peak gas export rate of 1.6 million ft3/d which wit will transfer to the FPSP for condensate production of 85,000 bpd.
The topside central processing facility and the nearby FPSO are just the first stages in the production line at the Ichthys gas field. Once these two facilities have removed water and extracted the condensate, it will be piped ashore to Darwin via an 889 km subsea gas pipeline.
The Ichthys onshore LNG plant will be capable of producing 8.4 million tpy of LNg and 1.6 million tpy of LPG. The project is a joint venture between, Inpex (operator) and Total.
