LNG Industry,
According to Reuters, Gazprom is currently considering whether or not to build a fourth LNG production train for its joint venture (JV) with Shell – The Pacific Sakhalin II LNG plant. Reportedly, Alexander Medvedev, the Deputy CEO of Gazprom, said that Gazprom was still interested in investing in LNG projects, such as Sakhalin II and Baltic LNG, despite the fact that oil prices are currently relatively low (approximately US$45 – US$50/bbl).
In an interview with Reuters, Medvedev said: “From a technical point of view everything (that is needed for the fourth production train) is there.”
