WDS Limited wins Santos GLNG contract

WDS Limited announced that its Energy Division has been awarded contracts worth a total value of approximately AU$ 65 million. The contracts are with Santos Limited (Gladstone LNG project) and Arrow Energy.

Arrow Energy

The WDS – China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corporation (CPECC) joint venture has been awarded a Construction Master Services Agreement with Arrow Energy. The contract is for Arrow’s planned Daandine Facility Expansion Project. The term of the agreement is two years, with an option to extend for a further one year.

The Daandine facility is a compression station that is being upgraded to support Arrow Energy’s commitment to Australia’s domestic gas market. The expansion is being managed by Arrow’s EPCM partner, Clough Amec Joint Venture.

New contract

WDS Managing Director, Terry Chapman, explained that the new agreement followed on from the award of the Field Development and Operation Construction Master Service Agreement earlier in 2014.

Chapman commented: “This new contract further strengthens the relationship between Arrow Energy and WDS and provides us with a further opportunity to expand our service offerings to CSG Upstream Developments.”

Services provided

The joint venture will provide the following services:

• Mechanical and electrical installation of infrastructure
• Fabrication and installation of wellhead surface infrastructure
• Installation of associated gas distribution and water gathering flow lines
• High voltage and low voltage power works
• Civil construction and maintenance works

The JV will begin mobilisation for the project in September, with personnel, plant and equipment managed out of the JV’s Brisbane office.

Santos GLNG

WDS has also been awarded the Santos GLNG Fairview Eastern Flank Phase construction contract. The project is for the installation of facilities for 74 gas wells and includes the connected gas and water gathering systems and high voltage power.

Chapman added: “This project is significant for WDS and continues our 10 year relationship with Santos GLNG.”
