According to Reuters, Total is currently in the final stage of negotiating a financing deal with Russian banks to fund the Yamal LNG project. The financing arrangement is reportedly worth US$4 billion. This follows the news that the Yamal LNG project would receive approximately US$10 billion in loans from Chinese banks in May 2016.
The Chief Finance Officer of Total, Patrick de La Chevardiere, reportedly refused to name names, but did confirm that the company was working on acquisition opportunities.
In addition to this, Reuters also reports that the CFO claimed that Total is aiming to take a Final Investment Decision (FID) on its project in Uganda in 2017.
