LNG Industry,
The US Department of Energy (DOE) has issued an order granting Flint Hills Resources LP long-term, multi-contract authorisation to export LNG to countries that do not hold a free trade agreement (non-FTA) with the US.
Last year, Flint Hills Resources filed an application with the DOE to export domestically produced LNG in ISO containers or in bulk, at a volume equivalent to 3.62 billion ft3/yr, for a period of 20 years.
Flint Hills intends to purchase and ship the LNG from an LNG liquefaction facility owned by Stabilis LNG Eagle Ford LLC, located in George West, Texas, US.
In granting authorisation, the DOE determined that the proposed LNG exports to non-FTA countries were not inconsistent with the public interest.
