MOL and DSME sign FSRU digitalisation agreement

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd (MOL) has announced that it has signed an agreement with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) for the joint development of technologies and solutions for the digitalisation of floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs).

Through this collaboration, MOL claims detailed operational data will be collected from FSRUs and stored in a cloud-based data platform to develop applications for advanced remote operation monitoring and optimisation, etc.

According to the statement, the project will help to improve safe and efficient operation, which will further deepen cooperation between FSRUs and shore-based facilities.
