ENGIE appoints new CEO

ENGIE has announced that Isabelle Kocher, who was appointed Deputy CEO and COO in November 2014, will become CEO. Gérard Mestrallet, the current CEO, meanwhile, will continue to work for ENGIE as Chairman of the Board. ENGIE claims that these managerial changes reflect the changing energy sector.
At the Shareholder AGM on 3 May 2016, the renewal of the directorships of Mestrallet and Kocher will be proposed by the Board of Directors. At the same time, the statutory age for exercising the role of Chairman of the Board will be changed from 67 to 69 years old. In addition to this, when the board meets at the end of the AGM, it will submit the necessary decision to begin divided governance.
Jean-Louis Beffa and Lord Simon of Highbury have also confirmed that they will not seek to renew their group directorships, which will end on 3 May 2016. Fabrice Brégier and Peter Ricketts will be put forward by the board to fill their positions.
ENGIE also announced that Lucie Muniesa – the Executive Vice President of the Agence des participations de l’Etat – will replace Astrid Milsan as Director Representing the State on the ENGIE Board of Directors.
