Kobe Steel receives screw compressor order

Kobe Steel Ltd has announced that it has received an order for two screw compressors for use with marine dual-fuel engines.

The compressors will be installed on an LNG carrier that will be built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), and owned by a 50-50 joint venture (JV) between Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and Itochu Corp. The compressors are scheduled for delivery to DSME in August 2017.

A subsidiary of Uniper SE – Uniper Global Commodities SE – will charter the vessel for a 20-year period.

Kobe Steel has also received an additional order for one reciprocating compressor for boil-off gas (BOG) reliquefaction. This compressor will be installed on the same vessel.

Santos has announced that the PNG LNG joint venture has accelerated the final repayment under the PNG LNG project finance facility, bringing the facility to a close.
