On 26 July 2018, the US Secretary of Energy, Rick Perry, will visit Dominion Energy’s Cove Point LNG Export Facility in Lusby, MD.
Secretary Perry will tour the facility, provide remarks, and participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The completion of the Cove Point LNG export expansion project makes it just the second LNG export facility in the continental US, accompanying Sabine Pass in Louisiana. These two facilities ship US LNG to 30 nations on five continents, and have increased US exports of LNG from 0.5 billion ft3/d in 2016 to 1.94 billion ft3/d in 2017 – with a combined export capacity of 3.6 billion ft3/d.
To further build on this expansion and growth, another four US export projects are underway across the nation and will provide 11 billion ft3/d of LNG export capacity once completed.
