LNG Industry,
Nakilat claims that this is part of the planned and phased transition that was originally announced on 19 October 2016. The vessel has a cargo carrying capacity of 217 591 m3, and is wholly owned by Nakilat. It is chartered by Qatargas, and was constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea. It was delivered in April 2009, and has been in service ever since.
The Al Ghashamiya is the eighth wholly owned LNG vessel that will come under the management of Nakilat Shipping Qatar Ltd (NSQL). This brings the total number of vessels managed by NSQL to 16, which consists of 4 LPG carriers and 12 LNG carriers.
