By strengthening the combined functions for various products handled by the group, including compressors and gas turbines, MHI will provide solutions for the upstream, LNG and downstream markets.
Hiroaki Osaki, President of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corp. (MCO), will serve as the president of the new division. He said: “I am convinced that the oil, gas and petrochemical industry in the US will continue its robust development.
“It is my responsibility to create synergies across MHI’s product lines and utilise our vast R&D network to seek out new technologies, innovations, and services that will drive value for customers and broaden the MHI Oil & Gas portfolio.”
The division has opened a dedicated office in Houston, US, and will focus on the identification, development and leading of business opportunities for turbomachinery, as well as engineered solutions, including growth areas, such as floating production, LNG, plant modularisation, CO2 EOR, gas processing and petrochemicals.
