Cheniere Energy sees unusually large options volume

According to multiple sources, Cheniere Energy, Inc. was the recipient of a significant growth in short interest during the month of May.

As of 15 May, there was short interest totaling 12 126 348 shares, a growth of 4.2% from the 28 April total of 11 635 388 shares. Based on an average daily trading volume, of 2 185 789 shares, the days-to-cover ratio is presently 5.5 days. Currently, 5.2% of the company’s shares are sold short.

Several large investors have recently added to or reduced their stakes in the company. Vanguard Group Inc. raised its position in shares of Cheniere Energy by 3.7% in the first quarter.
