Canada represents secure global energy source
Canada's Minister of Natural Resources, The Honourable Greg Rickford, delivered keynote remarks to the 2014 International ‘LNG in BC’ Conference in Vancouver, B.C.
LNG opportunities
Rickford highlighted Canada's position as a global energy leader and the importance of British Columbia's liquefied natural gas opportunities to address global energy demand.
Minister Rickford emphasised that market access for Canada's energy products, including natural gas, remains a top priority for the Canadian government. He discussed the strength of the Canadian economy and why Canada represents a secure and responsible source of energy to the world.
Responsible energy
In conclusion, he highlighted Canada's efforts to support the responsible development of the energy industry, including new measures that build on our world-class marine and pipeline safety systems and strengthen the participation of Aboriginal Peoples in development opportunities.
