The Cameron LNG terminal, which is a joint venture (JV) owned by Sempra, Engie, Mitsui and Japan LNG Investment LLC, has announced that it has reached another milestone in the project’s construction. The first structural steel framework has now been erected for the train 1 pipe rack.

This comes as part of Cameron LNG’s recent move towards building liquefaction facilities, instead of focusing purely on regasification. Construction of the liquefaction facility began in 2014 and, in 2015, Cameron LNG began a review process with the Federal Energy Regulation Commission (FERC), proposing to add two more LNG trains on top of the existing three.
