Novatek and Nuovo Pignone enter strategic cooperation agreement

Novatek has released a statement claiming that it has entered a strategic cooperation agreement with Nuovo Pignone. The agreement, which was reached at the 20th Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, covers the development of Russia’s oil and gas industry, including localising state-of-the-art technological solutions in manufacturing and maintaining of energy equipment for Novatek’s LNG projects. Recently, Novatek also announced that it has signed an LNG cooperation agreement with Saipem, in which both parties agreed to cooperate on Novatek’s future LNG projects.

Novatek and Nuovo Pignone also signed a 25 year contractual services agreement for the Yamal LNG project in Russia. Nuovo Pignone will utilise advanced engineering technologies and digital solutions for data monitoring and process, in order to help ensure the safe operation of equipment in the region’s challenging environmental conditions. Furthermore, the agreement states that Russian specialists will be trained to be involved in the maintenance of the project equipment.

Leonid Mikhelson, the Chairman of the Management Board of Novatek, said: “For the most efficient development of the huge resource potential of the far North, it is critically important to work with world-class companies to bring the technologies and manufacturing of high-tech equipment localised in Russia. The partnership with Nuovo Pignone is a significant element in implementation of this strategy.”
