ExxonMobil joins BC LNG Alliance

ExxonMobil affiliate, ExxonMobil LNG Market Development Inc., has joined the BC LNG Alliance.

The industry organisation is dedicated to fostering the growth of a safe, environmentally responsible and globally competitive LNG industry in British Columbia and Canada.

Commenting on the addition, President David Keane, said: “We are pleased to have ExxonMobil join our Alliance. ExxonMobil brings to British Columbia’s burgeoning LNG industry over 40 years of LNG experience, together with an industry-leading reputation in the safe execution of energy projects.”

ExxonMobil has been granted an export license for up to 30 million tpa of LNG and the project has entered into an option agreement with the City of Prince Rupert for a site at Tuck Inlet.

Keane continued: “Alliance members require clarity, certainty, and stability when it comes to the overall fiscal and regulatory framework and cost structure for LNG in British Columbia. We are committed to working with the provincial and federal governments in developing a regulatory and fiscal framework that sets the right conditions in place to establish a globally competitive and thriving LNG sector in BC.”

Other BC LNG Alliance members include: Kitimat LNG (Chevron Canada and Apache Canada Ltd.); LNG Canada (Shell Canada Energy, PetroChina, KOGAS and Mitsubishi Corporation); Pacific Northwest LNG (PETRONAS, JAPEX, Indian Oil Corporation, Sinopec and PetroleumBRUNEI); Prince Rupert LNG (BG Group); Triton LNG (AltaGas and Idemitsu Canada) and Woodfibre LNG.
