Kinder Morgan to commence Elba Liquefaction project construction on 1 November 2016

Although the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved the project on 1 June 2016, the Sierra Club, as well as a number of associated individuals, has since filed for a rehearing, which is still pending FERC.
The project is located near Savannah, Georgia, US, and is supported by a 20-year contract with Shell. It will be built next to the existing Elba Island LNG terminal, and will be capable of exporting 2.5 million tpy of LNG.
