Jensen Maritime reveals LNG bunker barge concepts

Jensen Maritime, a subsidiary of Crowley Maritime Corp., has announced the development of two new, customisable LNG bunker barge concepts.

The first LNG bunker barge concept involves outfitting an existing barge with an above-deck LNG tank. If the customer requires multiple liquid transfers, the concept can be modified to accommodate more than one type of product. This concept benefits from fast turnaround and a reduced need to invest in specialised assets if a customer has short-term LNG requirements.

The second LNG bunker barge concept is for a purpose-built, new bunker barge. This design features a larger LNG tank that is positioned inside of the barge, offering greater carrying capacity and improved visibility. This new barge will also feature the latest safety features and efficiencies.

These LNG bunker barges are suitable for those who have LNG needs at ports not located near an LNG terminal or as an alternative to over-the-road transportation.
