According to Reuters, Chevron Corp.’s Gorgon LNG project is expected to resume production shortly. This follows a shutdown on 1 July 2016 caused by a leak. The shutdown has lasted longer than expected, with Reuters originally reporting that the facility was due to make a second shipment in the week following the incident.
The AUS$54 billion LNG export facility has reportedly now commenced start-up operations.
Reuters also added that the Asia Excellence LNG tanker was originally scheduled to export another cargo on 9 – 11 July 2016. The vessel is now reportedly anchored nearby, ready for operations to restart.
