ENGIE signs LNG cooperation agreement with Egypt

ENGIE has released a statement claiming that it has signed two energy agreements with Egypt. Firstly, it has signed a cooperation agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transport Co. (EETC) and the National Renewable Energy Association (NREA) for further development of renewable energy.
Secondly, ENGIE and EGAS (under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources) reached an agreement regarding cooperation on LNG imports into Egypt. ENGIE has been a long lasting partner of the local gas industry, and will help supply the Egyptian gas market.
The deal was signed during French President François Hollande’s state visit to Egypt. The Deputy CEO and COO of ENGIE, Isabelle Kocher, signed the agreements.
