LNG Industry,
According to the latest Reuters report, Shell and its partner are seeking to import LNG into Indonesia.
“Shell has proposed to the government to import LNG,” Oil and Gas Director General Djoko Siswanto said, adding that the request had not yet been approved and Shell had been asked to present its plans to the government.
Shell and its partner had already found a buyer for the fuel and would build an LNG receiving terminal, Siswanto said without naming the partner or providing further detail on the proposal.
Siswanto also cautioned that any imports by Shell must not prevent domestic LNG producers from finding buyers.
