Bechtel completes GLNG communications tower
The Santos Gladstone LNG (GLNG) site reached a new milestone with construction completed on the installation of a 50 m high communications tower.
The construction of the permanent plant communications tower on the GLNG site will provide Santos GLNG with high-speed communication for the plant’s operational stage.
The 50 m tower was transported to site in segments resembling a giant Meccano set and constructed next to the Central Control Administration (CCA) building.
This important piece of infrastructure will ensure the plant has reliable communication to incoming LNG tankers and digital radio coverage throughout the site, as well as high-speed data and phone services.
The company congratulated the Alcatel-Lucent team for safely achieving this milestone.
