All Elba Island LNG units to be in service by 1H20

LNG Industry,

Reuters is reporting that Kinder Morgan Inc. is expecting to bring its nine remaining LNG units at Elba Island LNG into service by 1H20.

Kinder Morgan’s first LNG unit at Elba Island commenced production of LNG for export last month. Moving forward, the company now plans to bring three more units into service by the end of 2019, and the remaining six in 1H20.

The project has experienced delays since the end of 2018, a contributing factor as to why the company is expecting to end 2019 with adjusted pre-tax earnings 3% below its budget.

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved Kinder Morgan’s request to begin LNG production and exports at Elba Island LNG in a filing dated 30 September.
