Millennium awarded two US patents
Millennium Stimulation Services Ltd has been awarded two patents by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Applying LNG
The patents are for the use of the company’s Energized Natural Gas (ENG™) solution to perform well fracturing operations. One relates to the foundation application and addresses the system and method of applying gas as LNG to fracturing fluid mixtures. The other addresses the methodology for creating natural gas fracturing fluids to gain the desired behaviours for well fracturing application.
The patents for the same and additional applications were awarded to Millennium by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) in February 2015.
ENG method
ENG is a well completion technology that blends natural gas with conventional frac fluids and frac sands into an oil and gas wellbore to fracture a producing formation. Millennium has developed a method of pumping natural gas for energised or foam fracturing applications. Further, the ENG technology provides zero emissions by eliminating the need to vent and flare. The process also reduces or eliminates water to ultimately provide a waterless and closed fracturing system.
