John Crane expansion supports new LNG applications

LNG Industry,

John Crane has announced the expansion of its service centre in Singapore, as well as the opening of two facilities in Malaysia.

These two new facilities are a sales and service office in Kuala Lumpur, and a service centre in Bintulu. These investments will allow John Crane to respond faster to local customer needs, increase hands-on training offered to customers, and improve the transfer of technical expertise in the region.

LNG applications

One of the major upgrades includes improved testing capabilities. The company’s dry gas seal test centre now includes an upgraded observations centre, allowing customers to monitor dynamic testing of seals in real time. In addition, the test rig is being upgraded to handle the larger diameter seals and higher testing speeds required for new LNG applications in Southeast Asia and Australia.

Comments

Byron J. Paul, Managing Director Asia Pacific at John Crane, commented: “The new facilities and expanded service centre reflect our commitment to strengthen capabilities across ASEAN countries and Australia. The additions also give local customers access to what they’ve been asking for: quicker service and additional specialized training with little time away from their operations.”

The company anticipates opening additional service facilities in the region within the next 12 months.
