The US Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has issued a corrective action order requiring Cheniere Energy subsidiary Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC to remove from service and evaluate two LNG storage tanks at Sabine Pass's liquefaction facility in Cameron Parish, La.

Leaks of LNG and natural gas from the storage tanks were identified on 22 January 2018.

The FERC also sent a letter to Cheniere Energy requiring it to receive written authorisation before it may place the two tanks back into service for the import or export of LNG.
