Skangas to supply LNG for Finnish chemicals plant

The LNG will be delivered in a gaseous state to the Kemira plant via a connection pipeline from the Skangas Pori LNG terminal.

The plant produces water treatment chemicals for the purification of drinking water and wastewater, and will use LNG in its production processes. The heat necessary in the manufacturing process has been previously generated through the use of propane gas.

Jari Takala, Kemira Oyj Plant Manager, said: “Kemira’s contribution to the project was completed safely without any accidents, on schedule and on budget and in good cooperation with the gas supplier, Skangas, and others involved in the project. We’re happy that we’re able to reduce our production-related carbon footprint thanks to this fuel choice.”
