Teekay lays keel for six LNG newbuilds

Teekay has celebrated the successful keel laying ceremony of six new LNG vessels: H2416; H2417; H2453; H2454; H2455; H2461.
The H2461 is dedicated to the Bahrain project. The remaining five vessels are 173 400 m3 MEGI (M-type, electronically controlled, gas injection) engine ships, and have time-charter contracts with Royal Dutch Shell.
The vessels are being built at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) shipyard in South Korea. Deliveries are expected to be completed between 2017 and 2018.
