Aker Solutions has awarded DNV GL a global frame agreement covering subsea, umbilicals, engineering and maintenance, modifications and operations (MMO) in Aker Solutions’ business.
The agreement aims to facilitate better technology collaboration, more efficient project execution and cost savings.
Elisabeth Tørstad, Chief Executive of DNV GL - Oil & Gas, said: "Finding smart solutions, innovating and streamlining the value chain is critical to address the cost issue in the industry
"The contract provides a framework for technology cooperation that gives us the opportunity to work closely with one of the leading technology providers and developers in the industry. Our experts and global outreach will support Aker Solutions in achieving its international growth strategy and create unique and cost-effective technologies. So this agreement enables technical experts from both organisations to work closely together and learn from each other.”
The agreement will cover services and cooperation in all the important oil and gas regions (such as Norway, UK, USA, Brazil and Malaysia). It can also be extended to other countries and regions as required.
The agreement provides mechanisms for specific joint activities, such as cooperation in front-end engineering and design (FEED) phases and integrated engineering teams (IET). A web-portal will also be set up to allow for exchange of technical and commercial information.
Aker Solutions’ deal with DNV GL encompasses an extensive range of services and will affect services in many different parts of the company's business.
