LNG Industry,
The contract was executed through the company’s subsidiary, Carib Energy LLC, and extends a contract originally signed into 2014 that was awarded to Crowley for LNG supply for the facilities by expanding LNG services to additional plants.
The contract includes both the fuel supply and transportation of LNG. Crowley’s domestic logistics team will handle the transportation of the LNG from the US-based liquefaction plants to the pharmaceutical company’s plants. The team will coordinate over-the-road transportation of the approximately 10 000 gal. 40 ft intermodal ISO tanks authorised by the US Department of Transportation to the company’s shipping terminal in Jacksonville, Florida. Once in Florida, these tanks will be loaded onto vessels owned by the company departing for Puerto Rico. Once these cargoes arrive at the island, Crowley’s Puerto Rico logistics team will deliver the LNG to facilities. Once there, the LNG will be regasified into natural gas for boiler consumption.
The Vice President of Crowley, Greg Buffington, said: “We are thrilled to enhance our relationship by growing our LNG services and volumes with this critical customer in Puerto Rico.
“Crowley will continue to provide an uninterrupted supply chain of natural gas to the customer’s site, just as we have done since 2014, helping them utilise a safe, reliable and environmentally friendly fuel for their operations.”
