Chart Ferox has announced the completion and opening of a public natural gas vehicle fuelling station in Turku, Finland.

The natural gas fuelling station, which is owned and operated by Gasum, is the second such station in the country. A further two natural gas fuelling stations are planned for next year.

The Chart designed and built permanent LNG fuelling station provides fully automated operation and is supplemented with a Sarlin high pressure system to offer a complete natural gas fueling service for LNG, CNG and biogas vehicles.

Chart’s ergonomic design includes the company’s latest technology for maximum safety, accuracy and operational convenience, with the ‘Dynaflow’ LNG dispenser engineered to operate to an ambient temperature of -40°C. Chart’s partner, Sarlin Oy Ab, carried out the installation. Chart Ferox engineers completed station commissioning inside four days.

Natural gas fuelling can be a major contributor to Finland’s environmental objectives of reducing greenhouse gases, together with NOX, SOX and particulate matter emissions.
