Wison (Nantong) Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Wison Offshore & Marine (WOM), has signed a strategic exclusive deal with Japan Marine United Corporation (JMU). The deal will allow WOM to fabricate and market the SPB® Containment System as a fuel tank.

Under this agreement, Wison will fabricate the SPB® Containment System with design and technical know-how from JMU. Together, the companies will provide a customised cost-saving solution for LNG storage schemes.

The SPB® technology, owned by JMU, is well known for its LNG storage reliability and robustness since its development by IHI Corp. in 1980s.

“Wison Offshore & Marine is committed to delivering innovative solutions across LNG value chain from liquefaction, transportation and delivery, regasification, to LNG-to-power”, commented Wenxin An, Chief Operating Officer of WOM. “With the fast-approaching IMO 2020 Sulfur cap regulation, partnership between Wison and JMU will provide our customers a cost effective and reliable LNG fuel tank.”
