An agreement of cooperation among technical committees for the standardisation of LNG equipment and technology has been signed at the 8th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
The document was signed by Vitaly Markelov, Chairman of the Technical Committee for Standardisation (TC 23) ‘Oil and Gas Industry,’ Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Anton Shalayev, Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, and authorised representatives of TC 245 ‘Pumps,’ TC 259 ‘Pipe Fittings and Bellows,’ TC 318 ‘Maritime Fleet,’ TC 357 ‘Steel and Cast Iron Pipes and Cylinders,’ TC 364 ‘Welding and Related Processes’ and TC 439 ‘Automation Tools and Control Systems.’
The cooperation is aimed at implementing the emerging state-run program for standardisation of developing technologies and equipment in oil refining, petrochemistry and natural gas processing and liquefaction.
The joint efforts of the seven technical committees will contribute to the development of progressive national and inter-state standards in the LNG production area. TC 23 ‘Oil and gas industry’ will coordinate the process.
