New export project for Cameron Parish

G2 LNG LLC has announced the development of a new US$11 billion LNG export facility on the Calcasieu River Ship Channel, Cameron Parish. The proposed facility will have an export capability of 14 million tpy, and will include two liquefaction trains.
Work on the project will begin in mid-2017.
“The G2 LNG project has several unique advantages that have led to advanced discussions with potential customers in Asia, Europe, India and the Caribbean. We plan to use advanced technologies in the design and operations of the facility. In addition, we will use upstream supply of natural gas both of which will provide a long-term, stable, low cost supply of natural gas to global customers,” said former Govenor Charles E. ‘Buddy’ Roemer.
G2 LNG LLC has received permission from the US Department of Energy to export LNG to Free Trade Agreement (FTA) countries, and currently waiting for a response to its application to export to non-FTA countries.
