Video: Statoil’s Snøhvit gas field

Statoil has released a video looking at Snøhvit. The field is located in the Barents Sea, and is the world’s northernmost offshore gas field. Recently, the company announced that the drilling of a new injection well for CO₂ gas has commenced, and that the drilling of a production well for the replenishment of gas for Hammerfest LNG will follow.

Statoil will have the Snøhvit LNG plant back up to full capacity by the end of January after it was forced to shut down on 20 December due to a technical fault.
