Australian LNG operator, Woodside Energy Ltd, has awarded Applus+ RTD, a global provider of integrity technology services, a two-year frame agreement whereby Applus+ RTD will supply inspection and integrity management services across Woodside’s onshore and fixed offshore assets.
The two-year agreement, with a possible two-year extension, will encompass Applus+ RTD’s key offerings including conventional and advanced non-destructive testing, rope access and inspection engineering.
Applus+ RTD’s inspection equipment assets
With a total of 70 staff working on the contract supported by Applus+ RTD global resources. Many of Applus+ RTD proprietary inspection equipment assets will be employed to fulfil this contract, including its recently launched RTD plant master technology. This is a permanently installed monitoring system which provides continuous wall thickness measurements of critical and hard to access components. Applus+ RTD will also make greater use of remote video assessments and examinations, to ensure that Woodside’s operational risk is continuously improved on the project.
Reducing costs and improving safety performance
Cameron Waters, Regional Director for Asia Pacific at Applus+ RTD, commented: “We were tasked with utilising technologies that will continue to reduce costs for Woodside in the current market while continuing to improve safety performance. We are pleased that we achieved this and our market leading position has been recognised by our client. Our long standing working partnership with Woodside will continue.”
