GFS names new system distributors

GFS Corp., which converts high horsepower diesel engines to natural gas use, has announced two new Canadian distributors for its EVO-MT systems – Wajax Power Systems and Cullen Diesel Power Ltd.

Cullen will serve Southern British Columbia (B.C.), Canada, whilst Wajax will represent the EVO-MT systems in Eastern and Central Canada, as well as Northern B.C.

Recently, Teck Resources Ltd announced that it has commenced a pilot programme, in which it will test the use of LNG fuel for its haul trucks at the Fording River steelmaking coal operation. The company’s Komatsu 830 and 930 trucks will use the EVO-MT 8300 and EVO-MT 9300 systems. Product support will be provided by Cullen.

Jason Green, the President and Chief Technology Officer of GFS Corp., said: “We are excited to have Teck as our first Canadian customer of our EVO-MT System.

"We are also pleased to now have both Wajax and Cullen Diesel onboard to support our Canadian customers and provide a local presence.”

The EVO-MT systems are offered for both Caterpillar 777B and C models, Caterpillar 793B, C and D models, as well as Komatsu 830 AC and DC and Komatsu 930E models. The retrofit conversions do not require any actual modification of the engine itself, and allow sufficient LNG for 12 hours of usage.
