VIDEO: LNG taxation issues in British Columbia
Developing a liquefied natural gas industry is a top priority for British Columbia, however LNG proponents there are concerned about the composite impact of different layers of taxation in the province, including existing levies and a new LNG tax the government is expected to announce in the autumn of 2014.
If these different layers aren’t reconciled and demonstrated to be competitive for the industry overall, BC may have trouble enticing final investment decisions from LNG proponents.
