Petronas inks LNG supply agreement with CPC
Petronas’ subsidiaries Malaysia LNG (MLNG) and Petronas LNG Limited (PLL) have signed two contracts to supply CPC Corporation of Taiwan with a total of up to 2.6 million tpa of LNG, for a period of six years.
Contract signing
Delivery to CPC is scheduled from Q2 2014 and 2015 respectively. The contracts were signed on 5th March in Kuala Lumpur. CEO Encik Zakaria Kasah represented MLNG, while CEO Encik Mohamad Azmi Ahmad represented PLL. Signing on behalf of CPC was CEO of Natural Gas Business, Chen Jei-Yuan.
LNG supply and demand
The supply of LNG is to meet the demand and requirements of CPC’s customers in Taiwan. The gas will be shipped from the PLL complex in Bintulu, Sarawak and other supply sources.
New contracts
Petronas began supplying LNG to CPC in 1995 through a 20-year contract for a supply of 2.25 million tpa of LNG. The signing of these new contracts is expected to further strengthen the ties between the two companies.
